About Me
Background
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Pennsylvania who has been practicing since 2009. My background is in child and family therapy, early childhood, and perinatal behavioral health. I am able to support both parents and children to have a healthy relationship. I also have experience in working with Adult ADHD, Anxiety, Depression, Childhood behavioral health, and PTSD or trauma. My personal passions include spending time with her family as well as reading and fitness.
Approach to Therapy
I work with clients struggling with anxiety and depression. I have expertise in child/adolescent counseling, and perinatal mood disorders, as well as additional concerns. When we meet I will ask questions to get a sense of what's going on, often starting with "What's bringing you in?". From there, we will discuss diagnoses and potential focus for treatment. I am patient led and will gently challenge when necessary.
I often like to pull from various modalities to help address the client's concerns. I utilize a blend of both skill-based therapy and taking a "deeper dive" to understand what may or may not be contributing to a clients' area of difficulty. A fair amount of psycho-education is also provided, the point being to understand ourselves more so that we can stop the cycle of blame and shame.
